We are delighted to announce the promotion of Claire Woodward to the newly created role of Director for Community Investment at Acis Group. This exciting appointment, effective from 11 November 2024, comes after a competitive recruitment process that included both internal and external applications.

Claire’s promotion is a testament to her exceptional skills, depth of knowledge, and proven track record in delivering meaningful outcomes for Acis. Over her 10-years with Acis, Claire has demonstrated a real commitment to growth and innovation.

Claire joined Acis in 2015, bringing with her a wealth of expertise from her earlier roles in education, employability, and community development. Before joining Acis, Claire built her career in roles that focused on community engagement, partnership building, and creating opportunities for communities to thrive. Her professional journey showcases her ability to successfully align strategic vision with operational delivery, a key skill that has significantly benefited Acis over the years.

During her time at Acis, Claire has been instrumental in driving our community growth initiatives. Notably:

  • Leading the integration of education and skills services, including bringing Clip and Riverside Training into the Acis portfolio.
  • Lead on the recent successful Ofsted Inspection for Clip, achieving Good.
  • Spearheading growth in our Acis Students service, which now supports over 1,500 bed spaces in Nottingham and Sheffield.
  • Playing a pivotal role in the development of transformative projects such as the Campus for Future Living in Mablethorpe.
  • Helping shape Acis' 2023-2030 Corporate Strategy, ensuring a bold, customer-focused vision for the future.

In her new role, Claire will lead the Community Investment Directorate, overseeing:

  • Education, employability and wellbeing services delivered through Clip and Riverside Training, continued growth of Acis Students and group-wide services.
  • Strategic development of projects like the Campus for Future Living.
  • Driving innovation through business development and evolution initiatives.

This directorate was created to ensure we meet the ambitious goals of our corporate strategy, which is firmly rooted in supporting our customers and communities. Claire’s appointment represents a significant step forward in our mission to deliver a lasting positive impact.
