With 2024 coming to a close, we wanted to shine a light on some of the amazing things that have happened across Acis Group. From telling the story of a group of residents who transformed their shared outdoor space to supporting people into work there's been lots going on, so here's our top five stories of the year.
1. Caistor residents transform their street
In March 2024, Mark and his wife Amanda moved to Westbrooke Grove in Caistor. Upon seeing a worn and stagnant pond and gardens, Mark decided that he wanted to help regenerate the pond and the street, so he quickly gathered fellow residents Husband and Wife Veronica and David, Dot, Jessie and Tina and a willing group of volunteers were formed. Discover more about how they renewed their communal space.
2. Simon succeeds in his job quest
Simon was referred by the job centre to the Restart programme at Riverside Training in June 2024, as he was long-term unemployed. Riverside Training work with Restart as a delivery partner for Jobs22, who are the prime deliverer for the Department of Work and Pensions, and they work with people to tailor pathways back into employment.
Since joining Restart, Simon has been successfully employed by APM Cleaning & Repair, cleaning communal areas in sheltered housing owned by us at Acis. We were able to speak with Simon, who is also an Acis customer, to find out all about his employment success.
3. Gary's employability success
Steps is a programme at Riverside Training and Clip designed to help people in West Lindsey progress and move forward. Whether that's through achieving meaningful employment, accessing further training, returning to education or gaining the confidence they need to reach their goals.
Gary took redundancy from his previous job and wanted a change, the last time he had applied for a job it was through newspaper ads and job websites were only just coming into existence. Gary joined the steps programme (funded by West Lindsey District Council) at Riverside Training in Gainsborough and has had great success. We recently sat down with Gary to chat about his employment journey.

4. Volunteer's Week - Kev's story
In June 2024 we marked Volunteer's Week which is a celebration of all the amazing work volunteers do throughout communities in the UK. As part of the celebrations we sat down with Kev to hear how he's given up some of his time to support others at Clip's Chill, Chat and Connect group.
5. Peter's volunteering story
We visited Café Clip in July at Market Rasen to meet Alison, Mandy and Peter. We chatted about the difference Peter has made in the café volunteering.
