We are delighted to announce our employability arm, Riverside Training, is to deliver part of the government’s flagship back to work programme after being named as a subcontractor to one of the UK’s leading social enterprises.
Riverside Training has been part of Acis Group since 2020. It has been chosen as one of Shaw Trust’s partner organisations to deliver part of the Work and Health Programme, delivering online training to their participants to help them boost their mental health, confidence and wellbeing as they look to progress towards employment.
The Work and Health Programme is the Department for Work and Pensions’ national scheme to help unemployed people find suitable, sustainable work.
The people being supported by Shaw Trust are now able to take a range of online courses to help them pick up vital soft skills which will help to improve their mental health and wellbeing and put them in a stronger position to find employment.
Hannah Taylor Dales, Service Development Manager at Acis Group, which owns and manages Riverside Training said: “Shaw Trust is the UK’s largest not-for-profit social enterprise in the employability sector so to be chosen as one of their partner organisations is brilliant.
“Coronavirus and subsequent lockdowns have had a huge impact on many people’s health, with many unemployed people feeling further from the labour market than ever. Through this new contract, we’re looking forward to supporting people to boost their health and wellbeing as they look to take steps towards paid employment opportunities.”
Claire Fletcher, Health Network Manager at Shaw Trust, said: "We are pleased Riverside Training are working with us to deliver mental health recovery groups on the Work and Health Programme, as part of our health network. Riverside will bring a wide variety of services to the programme, from art therapy to a bespoke course encouraging people to speak about their mental health. All of these interventions are very much needed.”
Riverside Training offers a wide range of courses, programmes and qualifications to help people realise their full potential. Upcoming courses in February include a CV writing workshop, an interview skills workshop and introductions to business administration and customer service.
