Acis Group is delighted to announce its new Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board.
At our recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) the Board appointed Kath Smart as its new Chair and Carole Hodson as vice-chair.
Kath joined the Board at Acis in 2017. A qualified accountant with a background in governance, risk management and audit, she works as a Non-Executive Director in the NHS and provides governance and financial services to Foresters Friendly Society.
On her appointment, Kath said: “It’s a privilege to become Chair of an organisation like Acis Group who has a clear social purposes.
“Acis is an inclusive organisation and that’s how I like to work. We have great expertise across the Board in all different areas, and I’m looking forward to working with them to continue to serve the organisation. I’d like to formally thank Mike Kay and Graham Ward for their leadership of the Board, and I plan to continue with principles of openness & transparency and healthy challenge. I am also looking forward to seeing first hand some of the great work of our teams”
New vice-Chair Carole joined the Board at Acis in September 2018 and brings extensive experience of working in the social housing sector.
She spent her early career working in the homelessness service of a London borough, followed by working in housing management in the Midlands. Carole then worked as an Executive Director for large housing organisations, focussing on customer and corporate services.
Elsewhere, Acis have appointed Paul Wilkin and Julie Haywood onto the Board as well as seeing Chris Duncan and Jamal Tuki join the team as trainee Board members.
