You might have heard us, or other providers, talking about student surveys or asking you to give feedback on how they’re doing. This is very common and just means you get an opportunity to voice your opinions.
Here at Acis Students we’ve been taking part in the Global Student Living Index, or GSLI for short. The survey takes around 15-20 minutes to complete and asks lots of interesting questions, all of which help us to improve on services and our offer to you – our students!
Why should I complete it?
When you complete our survey, it means we get to hear your feedback. Not only do we feel it’s important for your voice to be heard and your opinions listened to, but it also gives us a chance to hear what you want out of your accommodation and the overall offer. We might not be able to implement all of the suggested changes - as much as we’d love to have a fairground or a pool on site, it just isn’t possible! – but we can certainly take things into consideration and put a plan in place for making improvements in the future.
Key areas covered in the survey focus on the management of site, social experience, accommodation design, wellbeing, communications and future planning, amongst other topics. It’s a chance for you to share your opinions and for us to look at implementing change, for both you and future students.
What am I getting out of it?
You get to be involved in making change which is exciting to be involved in. We know as a student you’re constantly developing yourself, and finding your voice in the world is important. Plus, it’s a chance for you to raise anything that we might not already be aware of. Maybe there’s something that has always bothered you about the site which hasn’t been brought to our attention before.
We’ve already started making changes from the first wave of the survey which took place late last year. You told us you wanted to see more support, especially in areas such as mental health, stress, budgeting and study skills, amongst other topics. To help with these, we’ve started building up our blog page with more advice, information and support.
Also, once you’ve completed the survey, you can visit our site receptions to collect a free chocolate bar to say thank you! You just need to show us your confirmation email. You’ll also be in with the chance of winning £500 with other students across the UK, from GSLI directly.

It takes between 15-20 minutes to complete on average, so make sure you have plenty of time before starting, and you’ll only have until 31 May 2023 to complete it.
